AC systems

Post by max03 »

Hey everyone, i have a 72 ranger that's newly purchased and I'm still finding out all the odds and ends, theirs alot to learn ab these ol fords. I can say that they will be their when our women aren't lol. Anyways I've been trying to figure out if mine has "dealer" AC or "factory" AC. Any sertian differences and also what's the easiest way to replace the heater core? Mine has the AC controls under the radio opening and the actual box with vents is under the dash.. It has wiodgrain if that matters, thanks

this is a factory a/c.its a heat and a/c box all in one. it is hugh and takes up most of the leg room on the passenger side. to replace the heater core in one of these. the whoel box has to come out an dsplit in half to replace the heater core. the heater cores in thes boxes are the same as the rear heaters in the same era econline vans. my zip file got corrupted or i would post the part numbers for you.

Thanks ford man, that's identical to mine:) thanks for all the info. You seem on top of the 67-72 era, I'll pick your brain.. Where or how could I obtain a set of ac lines? Whoever had this truck before me cut the lines from the compressor to firewall and from the condenser to compressor.
