The condenser looking thing is a Noise Filter to keep the noise off the radio, however if you have a newer electronic VR then you wont need this.
Not sure what you are saying that the wire colors don't match, as it is a plug in connector to the VR :?
More info/details as to what you have and are doing will help us to help you better.

BTW welcome to the site! :wel: :fr:

black is ground from the back of the alt to the regulator core support bolt.
one of the yellows is horn
the white wire #35 goes from the field side of the alt to the very bottom plug on the regulator
the other yellow goes to the starter relay on the fender. and is the second wire down from top.
one of the greens goes to the main cab power from the top position of the regulator. and that wire should be green with a red strip.
i dont see a second green wire. but i do see a white wire with a black stripe that goes to the 3 terminal on the regulator.
i got that from looking at this page. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... gauges.jpg

now this page is for a truck with dummy lights instead of all gauges in the dash cluster.
but they look the same when i looked at the 68 and 69 diagrams too.

if you can get me a picture of what your workign with i can probably help more than that.

You didn't say what year the other wiring is from...
Also, (motor wise) the wiring for the alternator is the same no mater what motor you use as the alternator is the same... The only difference in the wiring is if you have an "ALT" gauge or the "Idiot" light for the alternator, the wiring is different between these options. I'm guessing the wire harness on the 360 motor is from a truck with different dash options from your truck, there are could also be differences in connector types (not at the VR) as the 67 has a lot of difference from the 68-72 trucks. :2cents:
