Power cable routing

Post by marz68 »

I'm putting in a new fuse box on my truck and was wondering if its ok to run the power cable over the engine?
I want to clean up the engine bay so I want to run the power cable from the back of my 3G alt under the upper intake to the back and in to the fire wall. The cable will be zip tide to the injector harness away from the intake and heat.
What do you guys think? Good or bad idea?

Thanks

what i am thinking is the wiring from the alt goes to the fender relay and then to the firewall. so you woul dhave to double back wouldn't you? even on the 5.0 are wired this way i think.

It's not a good idea to run the main power cable with other cables as it can cause interference in them... a little short 2-3 inch section usually wont hurt but a long section like your wanting to do could cause you some headaches with your injection timing.

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...
