I've been mulling over stereo options for Capt America. My son will probably be driving it soon. He'll be driving it to the train station to park all day where break ins are common. I was at the Pick n Pull a few weeks ago and found a sweet old Pioneer AM/FM cassette deck. I paid $15 and brought it home. A little testing at my neighbor's electronics bench showed it to be in working condition. I replaced the belt for the cassette player, a little cleaning and lubrication of the cassette drive system & it's all functional now. I'm missing a knob, which will be a good excuse to go back to the Pick n Pull this weekend, and I just bid on the infamous #99-9222 Volvo installation bracket. I'll put the old stock AM radio on the shelf for now.
Now to figure out a pair of speakers that won't tempt thieves.

Do what I did, keep the am radio in (picked up a nice one here
) Find an FM converter and mount it in the glovebox. Then no one will think twice about the radio.
