My uncle just bought a 2004 Jeep Grand cheokee from martin dodge up in elizabethtown and drove back to the house and it caught on fire going down the road. Nobody hurt thank god but last night they saying that all i do is buy junk.

I think he meant to say that his family busts his nuts for only buying junk and then when they go buy a newer non-junk car it burns down on 'em. It's vehicular karma.

Sorry to hear about your uncle's luck. I'm glad to hear no one was hurt though. In defense of driving junk, I learned long ago that it has it's good points. Junk is the best theft deterent. No trip switches, no alarms, no locks or chains to hassle with because even the dumbest thief won't touch it.

That is correct Sequoia, when i bought frankenford he said that was stupid i could save a little more money and got a good MPG car insteed of a piece of junk that will never work good.

its one thing to say it will buff out. but it is just funnier than all get out to ask if they tried to buff it out. that was a good one. so who eats the cost of the jeep? the dealer or your uncle?

The dealership has to. They only owned it for about a hour.

In Oregon, if you buy it as-is, technically its your problem once you drive it off the lot. it would be horrible business practice to not do something about it, but in a situation like that they may not have any legal responsibility.

not trying to stir a pot, but be aware that (in oregon) they would not be legally bound to do anything, laws may be different where you are. Im sure that the dealer will want to help either way, since word gets around about something like that.

yea it depends on where you bought it who you bought it from and if it was as is where is kind of sale.
