Speedo Challenge

Post by smclaren »

Hi Guys

My speedo rattles like hell. Definitley sounds like its the mechanism up top.

I have had the cable out and lubed it (dry lube) but now it rattles like crazy 0-50. Seems to get quiter after that.

Any idea's ?? Is the upper mechanism a serviceable item ??

Thanks Guys

Steve,

The end of the cable get wore out after time.
I had one on my 74'dent that sounded just like you describe.
Replaced the cable and it was fine.
I had a local speedometer shop there, (Naples) to buy it from.
You might want to check your yellow pages. :hmm:

Also, autozone sells a universal repair kit that will actually fix our cables.
