O/T 94 Frieghtshaker

Post by wildcard »

Anyone know if there happens to be a fuse box other than the one with all the breakers under the center of the dash ? We have one with a direct short and have disconnected every breaker and unhooked every wire, one at a time, we can find and still can't find what is going to ground. :? Everything seems to work fine and we can't find any warm wires or such so we thought maybe we were missing another box somewhere. Any ideas ?

Similar problem on a Freightliner some years ago, it turned out to be the battery hold downs had shifted enough to cause the problem. Might also check where the wires go through the battery box wall. Good luck.

Thanks. The shop wanted to just install a cut-off switch into each ground cable to keep the batteries from running down. I prefer to find and fix the problem.

Wildcard, what engine is in your Freightliner? Is it electronic or mechanical? I've got some factory shop manuals that cover your truck.
