Sound system/battery
Hello, my project truck is nearing completion...I think But I am in the process of installing some 10'' subwoofers and a few 6x9's. My question is will this produce to much current for my battery, alternator, wire harness???? I want to make my truck reliable and therefore am questioning a alternator upgrade but don't have a clue about electricity. I hear about after market alternators helping but mainly worry about running the stereo while the engine is off any advice ASKING PEOPLE FOR A JUMP SUCKS....

re: Sound system/battery
The speakers aren't what will put a draw on your battery, it's whatever amplifiers you choose to run. And if you run so much power that you're concerned about your wiring harness then just run your hot wires right off the battery. If you're going to run the system for long periods of time then consider putting a second battery in with an isolator so you won't kill your starting battery but will keep your stereo battery charged.
