‘71 F250 2wd which model Dorman Steel wheels?

Hi there

Would like to replace my American Racing Baja wheels with Steel Wheels that I can put Dog Dish hubcaps on.

I believe 939-171 is the correct one, but was hoping someone could confirm before I order them. Also think I need to change lug nuts to?

Joe, i'm not an expert but think that wheel being for a newer application is going to be a metric bolt pattern.

Dorman does not specify the bolt circle on it though.

Hopefully sone of the F250 guys will be along...

A quick look on the Summit Racing site says the bolt pattern on the Dorman wheel is a 8 x 6.5 (165.10mm) which should fit. The center shows as being 4.886 in. diameter (124.10mm) but states it is not hub centric. Unless you have tapered lug nuts now you will need them with that wheel. I am not familiar with the rims you have now. The American Racing rims I have use a tapered lug nut (they are a "wagon wheel style).

With a rim width of only 7 inches and since they are a 16 inch wheel tires should be cheap, I mean affordable. The price at Summit is $99.99 which to me is a little pricey for a stock type wheel. Aren't there any junk yards near you. Steel, plain Jane wheels should be less than $25.00 a pop I would have thought.

They should fit your pickup. However I cannot say how they will work with your hub caps as I would only know if I saw them in person. I don't trust photographs of anything on line unless it is of the exact item I am purchasing and even then maybe not. Good luck.

You do not want the 939-171, there are no tabs to hold the hub caps. I bought these, and found out they were not the ones I wanted.

Luckily I only bought one first. Although ordered the remaining 4. Then canceled them. Imagine my surprise when 4 arrived in my warehouse after I hand canceled them. 4 large boxes, . The one you want is the 939-198. Currently out of stock with Dorman. I have been checking weekly.

Amazing junk yards are asking $75 each, then need to be cleaned and either painted or powder coated so that why I’m looking at new ones

Coker Tire, (my hometown) had those a few years back when I checked.
They specialize in OEM American made steel wheels be it chrome or white.
I narrowed your search to the 8 lug they carry, (give them a call to be safe-and say a former Chattanoogan' recommended them).

And they sponsor an annual cruise in there in Chattanooga that is 2nd to none in terms of antique and classic American steel rides.
