First, I have run across this forum numerous times via google searches for info about my truck and have found several topics on here to be extremely helpful. This is my first official post.
I have a 1972 F250 Custom with a 360 in it. It was used as a farm truck and when the farmer past away, it sat under a tree for 12 years. My friend knew I was looking for a truck and called to tell me this one was for sale cheap. It looked kind of rough, but after sitting all that time, the guy's son put a battery in it and cranked it 3 times and it started right up. I got it for $325.00.
Long story short, after using it as my daily driver for almost a year, one day last week I couldn't get it into PARK. I took the wheel off and discovered that the shift collar was broken. I am ordering one from LMC.
My horn has never worked since I got the truck and I noticed what looks like the horn brush contact had broken off and was rolling around inside the column. Am I correct in guessing it's supposed to sit in the little spring loaded tube on the turn signal switch?
Also, LMC sells new steering wheels and horn pads, but not in the original colors, does anyone sell them in green or blue? (truck was green, I painted it blue...)
I'm including 2 pics, one the day after I got it, and then right after I rattle canned it blue.
Thanks in advance,
Clint

from Georgia! Great work on the paint job. Yes, the horn button sits in the pocket that you referred too. To my knowledge, repop steering wheels are usually only sold in black. They can be repainted. http://www.eastwood.com/steering-wheel- ... m-eastwood
