Led lights for a 1969 F-100

Post by jf100 »

I noticed someone had an article on led lights that they got from Mustang Project Catalog. I would like to replace my bulbs. I am not sure if I have the circuit wire on the back of my dash or not, if so does this cause a problem? Thank you for your time.

Nope 69 has the wire harness just buy the LED replacements. You may also have to buy an electronic blinker as the LED's don't draw enough current to work the old mechanical ones NAPA has them cheap with built in sound.

I just bought Sylvania 1157 & 1156 led bulbs for my 72's tailights. What a waste. They have the leds setup in a pattern that shoots the light around the center, but nothing out the top. So the end result is my regular bulbs are still brighter. I could use new tailights lenses, but figured for the same price I'd go led. Didn't work in that application, so maybe I'll try them as front turn signals or something.

But I bought led 194 bulbs to brighten up my instrument cluster a few weeks ago, and they worked great!

There is a website I use called super bright led. They the same bulbs with different brightness levels. Usually a lot more choices than your local parts stores.
