'67 F250 License plate light wiring

SOOOOOO I clearly needed to replace my license plate lamp...

Now, I simply ran the wire to where it was previous. Seemed easy enough. Apparently not. I've got nothing. Am I missing something? Is there something missing? The right side over there is as it was, I didn't touch that side. There was nothing running between those two connectors.

Thoughts?

Given the impressive level of rust that you have there, how confident are you in your ground? Assuming you have hot in the wire, if you "enhance" your ground by touching the casing of the lamp to the frame, does it light?

Cheers,
Duane

Problem solved. Went at the front, inside, and backside of the hole with a wire brush and cleaned it up. Lit right up then. Basically, electricity is black magic to me so little things like "Hey dummy is it grounded properly" will stump me for days. Either way, thanks for the input/advice! Now I won't get a stupid ticket! lol.

It's the little victories that push me forward to the larger challenges.
