Installing oil and water gauges, there three terminals on the gauges. Ign. Goes to switched pwr. Ground . And sender.
There's a plug for the gauge lighting, could I just tie this into the wire coming from ign terminal on gauge ? And same with the lighting ground ?

Splice in to connector C in the diagram below. That will give power to the lights from the light switch. Your cigar lighter may not have the light in it, but the connector is still in the dash wiring. Ground can be connected anywhere that's metal.

It should be a light blue wire with a yellow stripe if I remember correctly.

Re: Aftermarket gauge wiring?
I didn't tie in power yet but I was gonna use a solid red wire behind cluster near ash tray that was switched power with key on.
Still tryin to figure out where to mount the two gauge cluster.... Want it under dash middle near heater outlet... Will heat be an issue? And wanted to avoid drilling holes. That seems un-avoidable.

Re: Aftermarket gauge wiring?
I don't think heat would be a problem because that's were I have mine. I drilled only one hole because there is a brace that has a bolt on it my 69 that I tied into.

Yea the nut that I assume was welded on is spinning behind dash... I grab some self drilling screws... Just make a small pilot hole and go with it

Re: Aftermarket gauge wiring?
Ok everything wired up and working. But at idle I have 48-50 psi oil pressure and while holding a little higher revs it only moves to just over 50psi? I used the new sender with the gauge. Is this normal pressure?

Re: Aftermarket gauge wiring?
That's really good oil pressure. What's the pressure after it has warmed up?

Same 48-50 psi when water temps are 180ish
