Gear selector light on steering column

I am installing a 68 f250 automatic steering column but it appears that there is no light bulb to illuminate the gear selector. If this is true, did they put them in later years?
67 F-250 CUSTOM, 428, 4 SPEED, DISC BRAKES, P/S, EATON ELOCKER, 3.54 GEARS
68 F-250 CAMPER SPECIAL 360, C-6

I don't believe any of the early columns were illuminated.
