headlight harness upgrade
Sorry to open up old wounds but I've searched through this old post in the parts for sale section and still don't get what this harness was supposed to upgrade. Was this some kind of kit to put the headlight on a relay or something?

Re: headlight harness upgrade
Yes, it is a relay system that basically powers the headlights directly from the battery power instead of running the power all the way through the headlight switch and then back to the headlights. With the harness, the headlight switch now just powers the relay which opens and then powers the headlights directly from the battery. The result is brighter headlights, and less draw from your headlight switch. It also will eliminate any "pulsing" that some trucks might get where the headlights brighten and dim depending on what is going on with the truck.
The only "old wounds" are related to a former member who used to make the harnesses and sell them. But you can get these same headlight harnesses aftermarket from I believe LMC for about $30 if my memory serves me right. It is a good upgrade to do.

Re: headlight harness upgrade
Thanks. I figured that must be the case but just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I'd never heard of. I will be doing this mod.
