You mention that you replaced the "ignition switch housing". Do you mean the wire terminal that connects to the ignition switch? It sounds to me like your problem is still at the switch or the switch plug. I had burnt wires going to my ignition switch and I had to replace the switch with a pigtail, and splice them into the harness beyond where they had burnt at the terminals.

Check that out since it is relatively easy to get to.

Look to see if the coil wire has 12V power at the ignition switch terminal connection. In other words, it should only be powered up by the ignition switch with the key turned to "ON"

Try doing the very same test with the starter solenoid brown wire removed.

If the coil wire at the ignition switch no longer has power with the key off, you have a bad starter solenoid.

If there is no change in your test, then either you still have a bad (or incorrect) ignition switch OR you have wires crossed in the harness / plug going to the ignition switch. The wire going from the ignition switch to the positive side of the coil should only be powered up with the key turned to ON.
