Put My Radio In...

Post by ford4x4fun »

Well I got a factory radio from someone here on the site, can't remember who. Well the thing looked nice all original not cut up. So I thought I would put it in today. My wiring harness in this truck isn't molested it is as true as it was the day it came off the show room floor. So I hooked everything up, and powered up the radio. It came right on and worked. There was someone talking and the speaker was working pretty good too. So then I tried to tune the station that I was on a little better. The second I touched the tuner nob the radio quit. I felt up around the radio where the tuner nob goes into it, and it was pretty warm. Kinda disappointing I have had that radio sitting for about two years waiting to install it...

if the tuner would have just gotten scrathy sounding i would say use some electronics spray in it. but if it got hot and stopped working it may need to be repaired. thats about all i know about radios.
