Would it be possible for those who are interested to listen to this MP3 and identify the music for me? Who wrote this music, and who's playing the piano?

Is this a well known tune?

I've always been very impressed by parts of this (especially the beginning) and have been curious to know more about it. It was put on to a random tape given to Kasie by a family friend years ago, so it's a mystery to me!

according to my Vcast (verizon) music ID it is "sweet and lovely" by George Shearing, from the Battersea to Broadway album. I coudn't find any free music on the internet to link it though so I cannot be 100% sure, but what I could find sounded like his work.

I'm quite impressed that you were able to come up with this--I didn't know there was software that was effective at recognizing songs!

I'll have to buy a recording of this song just to see if you're correct.

I'd never heard of George Shearing before, but it looks like it is/was a pretty famous guy.
