87 Bronco wiring

Post by HH Henderson »

Trying to help my grandson with his 87 Bronco. A connection burned yesterday as soon as the engine was cut off. I cannot identify the item since it has no numbers on it (only the word Ford) It maybe shud not be called a connection because it has wires going into one end of it only.
It lies on the street side of fender well. Here is a pic of part of it (the part that has wires) Unable to get pics of other part right now, but will soon. The other portion of this connector is about 1 " x 1 1/2" rectangle.
Can anyone identify this by the pics and tell me what it is for?
Thanks :?
