New Member from Mississippi

I joined a couple weeks back, but have been so busy at work that I have not had a chance to post.

I aquired a 1970 F-250 LWB flareside from my step-dad in early August. It is equipt with a 300 I6 and a 4 speed manual with the granny low 1st gear. My younger son and I drove it back from California to South Mississippi. We slept in the slide-out camper top. It was a great trip. The only downside was we did not have the AC working for the trip. I have since fixed that. No AC in South Mississippi is not really practical. Here a few pictures.

At sunset somewhere in West Texas.

In the morning at rest stop about 300 miles from the first location.

It runs very well. I plan to repaint it and fix some of the minor rust problems.

Nice looking truck!! Thanks for the pics. You said flairside bed? It looks like a utility bed. Is it boxes on the side of a flairside? Sounds like a trip you'll remember for a long time!

Thank you. Yes, It has tool boxes bolted to the flareside bed side panels. I do have the orginal rear fenders, but I think I will keep the boxes for now. It was originally ordered as a utility truck for a gas company in California, but when a blue truck showed up instead of a white one they refused it, and Ford put it up for sale.

Welcome from North Carolina!I like your truck alot!When I was little,my mom,dad,sis and me would go camping alot.My dad had a camper like that he put in the back of a 68 styleside.The boxes on the side of yours make alot of usefull space I bet.

I am actually almost in Hattiesburg (Oak Grove), but with a Purvis address. I work at the University. I have very little experience in working on cars/trucks, but consider myself mechanically inclined, so I consider the acquisition of this truck an opportunity to start learning.
