Looking good! What harmonic balancer did you choose? I like the looks of that one. And do you have a timing pointer yet?

The link to it is on my blog post. You can click on it and takes you right to it. It has a pulley assembly that is adjustable for your application. I have the pointer that was on the engine already, just haven't put it on yet.
Duh! I went and read your updates but the thought never occurred to me to click on the pretty red hyperlink. Thanks!

Thanks Pinche! You just saved me ton of heartache with that bracket write up on your blog. I'll be doing the exact same thing when I get my engine. You're my hero!

Long tubes weren't what I was looking for. Plus they would probably hit the crossmember. I will eventually get a pertronix cause I have one on my tractor. Won't do anything too extravagant.
i went electric distributor and i wont ever go back. i didn't the points eliminator kit. and it was better. but man oh man when i put a simple 2 wire electric distributor. the engine just pepped up. before it was running like an old dryer with some nuts and bolts tossed in.
after it tightened up, ran so smooth and clean. and it was a 40yr old original high mileage motor
so unless an EMP hits here im running full electric distributor.
im even running a after market distributor. a knock off of a mallory. it even has mallory part #s inside it.
got it for $60
got one for my truck for $80

That's good to know. I am planning on stock dist with pertronix kit, or a whole new pertronix dist. Buddy of mine claims not having electronic pick up on SB fords is silly.
