the d60 should offset the weight balance from the engine alittle, isnt it heavier than a 9 inch?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

thats good news flyboy, we are moving on to a plot of land that has been in our family since 1950-60 or somthin like that, and will most likely be buying the plot and the back half is a field that pays the land taxes so its a good deal.

UPDATEEEEEEE
-got the 360 and tranny completely disconnected from the 71, ready to pull.
-scraped tons and tons of grease off of the tranny.
-cleaned all the grease off of the 429
-removed/painted brackets from 429
-cleaned and masked the 429 for paint
-painted 429
-other stuff.
BEFORE

NOW. the air filter is just for the picture. im going to get a 5 in. tall filter for it. the edelbrock 750 4-barrel is under the filter

spent tons of time stripping the 429 donor truck for the scrap yard. got $400 which i split with my boss since he towed it down there and threw some things on.

bought engine stands. there prettty rediculous to me. im taking them to the welding shop i work at to give them a nice gusset for strength.

not that i care but check out these sweet runs

shiny makes you go faster.... right?

before the tranny looked like a big block of grease. then i carved the block of grease down into a tranny.

engine/tranny will be pulled next weekend. we will also rebuild the tranny that weekend. and hopefully get the 429/tranny into the 71 that weekend as well. we have one weekend to get the truck running WELL and driveable to norther nevada for a desert race.
things to do before its ready, which we will have to do next weekend. i dont know if we will make it
-pull 360/tranny
-mount the new motor mounts. going to have to drill holes somehow
-drill out the broken exhaust manifold bolts
-bend the exhaust pipes to fit the 429 manifolds. dont know if this will work
-swap torque converters, they might not even swap... should though
-mount the rearview mirror
-put the 429/tranny in
-connect everything
-tune stuff
-flush engine
-get ready for trip
-OH, and cant forget about rebuilding the tranny.
thats all i can think of. im sure there will be surprises though
if it does get done, its going to be verrrrry close
