So i never updated u guys on replacing the head gaskets.
Had a work buddy (builds engines on the side) to check out my heads for warp. He said they checked out.
So I replaced em with a heavier duty gasket. Felpro 9333 pt-1.
Torqued em and re installed the rockers and torqued them as well.
Didn't take any pictures sorry

I found this grille for $175. It doesn't have a dent or scratch on it. Thinking I'll chrome it later on.

This how she sits right now. I've got the engine running fine after the head gasket job. And I'm now trying to figure out why my brakes are so soft.

Here's a video of it backing out of my garage.....again  after about a year-ish.

Here's how my truck is now.step one is sanding the hood and painting.and I have the "new" 67 bed up on end where I will be scraping off all the crud on the belly of the bed and fit one rust spot on a frame mount. Then I will be painting it with a layer of rust resistant spray and some bed sealer.

Image

I'll be doing the same to the frame and axle. Then clean up the back of the cab. Prep it for paint

oh and I bought this rear sway bar for it. Its an addco 340. I Can't wait for it to arrive so I can put her on. I also might buy some new shocks with over load springs. Not sure yet on that.

Image

Also I will be removing a 1/2 inch lift blocks on my rear axle that the previous ow er put in. And then I will be dropping the front end an inch at most.

I've been having some weird issues with my booster and transmission. I'm thinking it's vacuum. The brakes are kinda soft and after much brake bleeding there has t been much improvement. And my c4 is slow to shift I to drive. But the engine runs fine. It's weird

Have you hooked up a vacuum gauge to the intake to see what you're getting and check for fluctuations in the needle? Also spray around eith ether and listen for rpm increase. Usual culprits are cracked/loose vacuum lines, carb base gasket, intake gasket, brake booster hose or modulator valve on the tranny.

Hey,nice progress.
Did you have good brakes before you swapped intakes?
I noticed you went from a dual plane to an open plenum intake, that will hurt your manifold vaccum maybe enough to effect your power brakes.
Like was stated above, put a vacuum gauge on it to see if you have enough to support power brakes.
I think my booster needs about 17 lbs. to operate correctly. Good luck and keep up the progress,Calvin

Calvin im thinking the same thing. I cant imagine it woykd hurt it that bad. But hoping that's not the case. I'm planning on running buy the harbor freight and grabbing one. I've always had decent brakes. Nothing like the brakes on my other fords. But there has been so many variables in this soft brake equation. 2 new boosters, new front disc brakes(was drum) new MC (for front disc and rear drum),new proportioning valve. And the others are new intake manifold.

I'll do the spray test sargent. What am i spraying? The carb start spray?

What are the symptoms of a leaking intake manifold in regards to the engine? Bogging, low idle?

Hey HIO yeah I've been around. I've mainly been on the fordification. Com facebook page. Awesome community there.

Whats your 2 cents on the rear sway bars on our trucks? It's a addco 340
