Brake lights are working! :D Now , I can drive in the daytime.

I got some late model sockets from an Explorer/Windstar/Expedition at the U-Pick with newer style slotted bulbs 3-wire (1 is ground) modified to fit in the original taillight housings... ground wires are attached to bottom screw housing mount.

Next up are the front headlights, so I can drive at night.

I am going to piggyback of this thread. 68' f100. No brake lights. I have done just about everything. Replaced TSS (had to anyway, broke cam), replaced flasher for turn signals, checked fuse (has power), checked brake pedal switch (seems to work, no omhs when pressed), emergency flashers work. Not sure what is going on. The one thing I did notice was I have no power to the "brake power wire" in the picture below. I am assuming that is supposed to have power correct? What would be causing a lack of power there at the wire? The wire is green on the TSS, but connects to two red w/black tracer wires at the terminal. Also, should the brake pedal switch have power? It does not now.

Yes, the brake pedal switch should have power on it in coming from the fuse box at all times (key off or on). beings your Emergency flashers work the power from the fuse box is good as it uses the same fuse/power for it. Follow the Red wire back from the brake pedal switch and find out where it is loosing power, it will connect/split at the Emergency flasher can. Look at this diagram http://www.fordification.com/tech/wiring/68-23.jpg it is wire 284, wire 383 is the main power from the fuse box for both the Emergency flasher and the brakes.

I will check that! Problem is, both wires for the brake pedal switch lead into a massive harness and are all covered up. I will see what I can do. Can I just cheat and run a new wire from the fuse to the pedal switch? Any reason it has to run through the Emergency Flasher?

Nope, just the fuse for them both as they are on the same circuit is why they are wired together... If you don't have a bunch of hacked wiring I would look at the connector on the Emergency flasher, this is where that Red wire is connected to the Red/white striped wire (383), the two wires are both connected together in the connector (as seen in the diagram) I bet the wire is broke there. You can also connect to the wire here if you end up running a new wire. :2cents:
