Headlights go out then come back on

I know this has been a few years but.....I looked a little more at the radiator support on the '70. Since the bottom sides of the support where it mounts to the fenders were rusted Swiss cheese, and the ground strap from the support to the frame was rotted away, I wondered if the high beams were just drawing too much for the given "ground". So I put a temporary ground strap from the top of the support to the frame. The problem of the high beams going off went away. I sold it to a buddy who told me it hasn't happened to him yet.
