Well I watched the video again, man that's a sweet truck! I thought Onondaga was a 1/4 mile track, I found out that its an 1/8 mile. Those tracks throw me off because I'm used to the 1/4 mile times and setup. My truck is all apart and I'm rebuilding it the RIGHT way. The engine will have about 550hp and 650 or a little more ft-lbs after tuning and everything. Here's some shots of it before the tear down. I will have to meet up with you and race you when I get her done. :D That would be SWEEEEET!!!!

I have an edited picture of what I plan on making it look like, but I can't upload it. I'll try to figure that out.
You've got too much truck for that track. 8) I'm 45 minutes up from Milan Dragway.

EDIT- I got it now, but its not a longbed nor does it have the hood scoop I want.

looks alot like my truck before i got started on it, sounds like you might have a family of racers over there! when i brought my truck home it still had a camper in the back the guy i bought it from was from rite here in michigan just south of grand rapids he was the second owner the first owner bought it to pull a horse trailer but it was a little to small to do the job and sold it. is that a heater box there above the trans hump i love those ...is it a ford option? hell yea lets run e'm, stay in touch check with me when you need or go parts hunting.. i have few that didnt get used or just something i changed my mind on. couldnt tell by the pic if that was auto or manual witch way are you going? what is the plan for your build? i sacraficed alot to get my truck where it is and its still under constuction so far i've managed to pull of most of the work myself but damn....there is no way this could be pulled of if i didnt absolutely love it!!!!!

your future pic came out a little green but it looks great..love the look of those fatties back there  i didnt narrow my axels i just went with a huge offset, i wanted to stay with the steel wheels there 15x14s with original ford centers with the oval and all. a company called stockton wheel did the work, i could have saved alot of weight with the narrow and aluminum wheels but i wasnt going for all out race.

That's an a/c unit, I think it was a dealer add on. Made by Friggett. Its a c6 trans that we found out had already been rebuilt and looks brand new :hd: . Less money to spend on that. I don't know exactly what wheels will be put on it maybe those modular ones. The green was supposed to be there, I want it Grabber Green. I love green, then the headlights will be blacked out along with the turn indicators and tail lights. I know what you mean about your truck, even when your finished, your not finished. You'll never be finished, you get it running and all you want to do is drive it.

I think I can stuff 12 inch overall width tires in there without modifications other than the wheel wells. But I don't have the bed on so I don't know for sure. I plan on doing an axle flip and cutting the coils to give it a 4" drop and put support air bags in the front to smooth out the ride from the shorter coils. I have the build link in my signature, but to sum it up a bit:
71 429 base block turning it into a 466, using stock rods ground for strength. Diamond -25cc dish forged pistons, OEM 460 crank turned .010, Lunati bracket master II cam +2 degrees. High volume oil and water pumps, summit ignition box, coil, and distributor going to be set with maximum advance. D0VE-C heads with a home port job, machinist did the valve job and I lapped them, 2.12/1.76 Manley valves, 3 angle intake valve job, full exhaust radius. Possibly harland sharp full roller rockers and lunati springs. Weiand stealth intake topped off with a holley 4160 series 750 cfm carburetor with the lightest secondary spring possible. Hedmen headers. Looking at 550hp and 650ft-lbs. 2800 stall converter with 4.09 gears locked with a Yukon locker in a dana 44. Hooker maxflow mufflers. Would like to get a bench seat but my dad wants me to have headrests. Don't think the pop is paying for all of this either.

Not really SUMMING it up. If there is anything that you would like to know I'll get the info to you. No question is too stupid or too specific. Thanks for the offer on parts. I would say the same but that's kind of my dads decision when it comes to that kind of stuff. By the way, when I went to look at it it was 2 hours away in Lapeer and we were looking at it for my older brother. He didn't want it but I did, the guy got it from a buddy who brought it back with him from Arizona so its SOLID. Sat for four years until I came along. Badap bap bah bah, I'm lovin it!

Looks like a great turnout at the track. Should get plenty of support to get it back in tip top shape. There was a track near me I went to with my dad a couple of time while growing up. It was called ShuffleTown. People built some nice neighborhoods near it and complained about the noise from the track every Sunday until they were forced to shut it down. A real shame about how many kids were forced out of a local track they could go to and do their grudge matches or get it out of their system and were left with only the local roads to do that on. These people knew full well that track was there and that it was noisy on Sundays. They should not have built their stupid neighborhood so close to a race track.

okay i get it now on the edited picture..is that the only one you have looks like those are fenderwell headers, i might consider those when my sadersons rott out i have never seen a set on a truck like ours with the bbf. i know it would be a custom deal..so i like to look at others to get ideas. are you doing a ground up deal? i have seen builds like that, they end up so clean and nice. it also makes me nervous..i have seen to many go that far and loose interest then it ends up in the swapper! i have done mine a piece at a time besides i'm always changing my mind anyway. think i'll wait till my kids are grown before i go that far and then maybe my mind will be made up about how i want to complete it...if thats possible!!!!!!

yea why not build a home in the middle of the lake and then complain about how you dont like to be near water.... thats one of the issues the are dealing with now. i like it when someone complains about how there property value will go down and no one would buy there house, and then someone like me says...hey how close are you to the track i'll buy it!!!! :)

Well I have two more pictures from the back of a 67 shortbed. I'll upload them soon. Those headers look like they could be perfect if you were to have the exhaust exit at the side. I am doing a FULL ground up restoration, but I'm keeping my interest. I change my mind a lot also but I figured out what I want to do, I get other ideas but I like this setup the best. This truck will NEVER be sold or junked, I will not make the mistake that everyone else has made by selling their first car. I don't know why I would even want to, its MY ideas and effort, I deserve to keep it. I'm taking this truck to the grave with me and treat it like a queen, but it will be driven a lot. Otherwise, whats the point in having it?

What happened with Shuffle Town is totally asanine, if I was the owner I would be like "look, we were here first, that's their problem". In my opinion drag racing is a good place to work it out of your system so your not messing around on the street. I don't understand why so many people hate cars and are against them so much. If I didn't have cars I wouldn't know what I would do.

Here's the other two which I don't like. I have another of the truck above along with the originals but I don't like the way I did the other one. I'm going to try a longbed now. I think it would look sweet with the stock wheels painted green, but I need wider ones for the back.

i really like the white walls...and it really works well with black, the lower the better with these longbeds. that would be a killer rat rod look for sure........ i went to some of your build threads ..great job, i will be following them!!
