Carb Question - And I thought it was a steal at $300

Ok... Here's the latest and maybe last for this thread. I found a rebuild kit for the Carter YF 1bbl "Junk Yard" Carb as the accelerator pump diaphram was shot. It went together pretty easily expect for a couple of the internal adjustments. I reinstalled the carb on the truck and after some ignition work and rigging the manual choke pull on the "previously" automatic choke Carter - IT LIVES!!!

Now for the fun part - time to dive into the braking system - thanks for all the helpful suggestions and good luck on your projects.

PS - Marine6212, no prob with the hijack, I am also working for the Air Force - only I'm still on active duty and assigned to an Army Post (Fort Gordon, Ga).

The F5 number would seem to indicate a 1985 date, which would be into the feedback carb era.
The YF is a good carb but can be a bit troublesome to get a good result from kitting. Partly because they worked so good for so long that they are just wore out by the time most people address any problems.
