If you remove the rubber plug on the upper left area of the firewall, and the one behind the upper right corner of the instrument cluster (pull the cluster first) you will have some access to that area. Pound down the dents as best you can, then take a piece of wire and thread it through one the cowl hole and out of one of the plug holes. Take a nail with a head larger than the cowl hole and wrap the wire around it. Draw the nail up through the cowl hole, then hold it in place with pliers and give it a couple of tack welds. Cut the nail as flush as you can, then grind down the weld. Use a little JB Weld as putty and get it smooth.

All of the extra holes on your doors were meant for the western-style mirrors, as well.

Thanks for the info on repairing the cowls. I don`t have the truck yet and had no idea on how to fix so will definitely be giving this a try. airjetmech

I have been doing some research on options, with the help of the detailed information on FORDification, thanks to the individual who spends a great deal of time compiling it and I have the power steering, power brakes and front disc brake options. Not sure if it has tilt but the tech article is helpful also. Airjetmech

Tilt came around in 78 on trucks. Unless it's already been swapped, you won't have it.

Drove the truck up from California a couple of weeks ago with no problems. Turns out the 390 is really a 360 according to the s/n . Turns out the no dents, no rust was only half true as there are 3 dents . Bed rail protectors were taped and screwed for added theft protection Interior was suppose to be mint but dash is cracked but I managed to find a nice replacement for it except it is black and mine is blue. Not sure if the seat is stock but what I have seen on this site kind of tells me it might be. Overall its in pretty nice shape having spent its entire life around Stockton and is an original San Jose built truck. Need some trim pieces that are dented and not sure if it would be better to have fixed what I have or replace? I have removed most of the trim and will likely remove whats left this week along with bumpers, grill, door handles, window seals, etc, for a semi decent paint job. Have some holes on the bed rails, bed floor, cowls and doors that will need to be welded up before paint. It won`t be show quality as I really only need it to move my 5th wheel. I will post some pictures of the final results. Airjetmech
