So now I need to press off (never changed them the 1st time)my axle bearing and install new ones.
Jerry, be careful with that man! I'd had bearing retainers fly across the shop tryin' to press them off before! Also wound up torching them off one time on my 76' EB. They can be stubborn. :( :

Well there was no pressing the old(1970)bearings off...even with heat  So they were torched off and the New pressed on easy

Here's the freshly painted 3rd member and Powdercoated Rear end housing

So today I'm going to work on getting the Flex-o-matic back in place and rear end installed on frame---have to pick up seals before I can slide the axle in

Jerry,

Looking good man!
Is it my old eyesight playin' tricks on me...I don't see the bearing retainers on the axles in the above pic?
And what's up with that chebby orange on the punkin?! Seems I remember someone here giving me a hard time about the chebby paint on my flywheel!

Had venison burgers this week, and have some venison sausage to cook (given to me). Best burgers I've had in a very long time!.
Any more luck with your hunting season there?

Looks good man. If I remember right you are not supposed to tighten everything down on the leaf spring and U Bolts until the full weight of the truck is on the rear end assembly. Just thought I would let you know in case you didn't already.

Should be rebuilt and back together by middle of next week  Need a little help from the weather to get back on the frame and get the front redone. Pic's coming

I'm going to keep an eye on this. I'm starting on my cab this summer. Not quite as much work as you had to do, but will be doing cab corners, filling in the fuel filler hole, and installing new front cab mounts.
