Bypass Park/Neutral switch
Bypass Park/Neutral switch
I may have to go to a floor shifter in the very immediate future, so I'll have to ditch the safety switch. For a 69, what two wires get crossed to make it work?

re: Bypass Park/Neutral switch
My 70 had a floor shifter and the NSS was bypassed. I gave that column to Wideguage so if you contact him he could tell you which two wires were crossed to make it work.
I do remember, of the 4 wires on that switch it was two that were right next to each other so you got a 50/50 chance if you just take a stab at it.
One thing I would recomend is: if you do bypass the NSS run those two wires to a toggle switch or something so you dont accidentaly start you truck while its in gear. (Long story on how I learned this)
At least with a toggle, you have to think about it before you turn that key.
Ive been searching for a way to hook up a NSS to my existing floor shifter.
Ill have that worked out before I start my truck back up after my cab swap.

Why not just unbolt the NSS from the column and then tie it in the open position? You could then just tie it up out of the way until you get your present column fixed, so that when you do you won't have jury-rigged wiring to have to undo.

Isn't there a jumper wire that is located on the driverside inner fender for the stick applications, in an auto it is replaced by a plug that runs into the cab for the switch on the column?

Can't help you. All of mine are red. Someone at one time cut and re-wired the entire dash. And yes, mine will start in gear with a C6- and move! Yeah, don't ask.
