awdammit! I saw this post just prior to going to the shop this morning, so while I was there I snipped a piece of sheetmeal from a roof panel so I could swing it by a friend's house on the way home to mic it (I don't have a micrometer), but completely forgot about it. It's still in my pocket!

The piece of metal is STILL in my pocket...if nobody has responded by tomorrow, I'll go ahead and mic it and post what I find out tomorrow evening.

Well, my wife grabbed my pants and sent them through the wash, so the metal got lost. Ended up going back to the shop for another piece.

It measures out at .031, which is 22-gauge steel.

Hope this helps.

The sample piece I measured was from a roof panel. But I'm a little surprised too. I was thinking it would be heavier. Just for peace of mind, when I hit the shop next to start doing some welding on my cab, I'm going to take measurements from a hood and a door and compare them to the roof piece.
