Gentlemen,
I have for many years been the owner of a 1970 F 100, and last year inherited my father‘s 68 Torino. It was the first new car he ever owned and the one he brought me home from the hospital in. The Torino has a tendency to slip out of park into reverse if you rev the engine. Is this a function of the shifter wearing out where the point inside the steering column sits? I’m ready to bring my dad‘s car home and get it back into the working order he kept it for so many years. I would appreciate any good ideas.
Happy Father’s Day everyone.

There may have been a recall back in the day on this. You might look up T S Bs
Also with the mechanical throttle linkage there was an issue with a broken motor mount
can cause the car to pick up speed when you didn't want to.
a later cable linkage is safer.

oops
I've wondered how people make a double post.
It's pretty easy.
