LMC seat upholstery
Would anyone care to weigh in on the quality of the seat upholstery available at LMC Truck compared to some of the other places out there? Seems like they're about the cheapest out there but I don't want to order it and be disappointed. On the other hand I hate to spend extra money if they are comparable to some of the other places.

I've used one, I'm satisfied with it. LMC gets there's from somewhere, possible Auto Custom Carpets anyway.

LMC Doesn't source from ACC. Rock-Auto does however, in some cases..
Upholstery is probably best sourced locally, the budget conscious can still get pretty good work done for under $400.
This was a $300 job we sourced for a client on a budget, it's in a work-truck. That price included re-built foam throughout with extra 1" of firmness on seat bottom, painted exposed metal items, new burlap, finished assembled and delivered. Pretty good deal.
For a guy that wants more specific items of covering we are usually able to have custom work done locally for under $600, and sometimes ship entire seats.
I'd rather that, than around $200 plus shipping at LMC for a vinyl re-cover, something that isn't tailored to my specific seat, and still needing to do other foam/spring work to make it comfortable/fit correctly.

Wow I just assumed that going to an upholstery shop would be way to pricey but maybe I should at least check into it. Thanks Joseph.

I've checked numerous upholstery shops in my area and the prices range from 500.00 to 850.00.Bob 2+2 wrote:Wow I just assumed that going to an upholstery shop would be way to pricey but maybe I should at least check into it. Thanks Joseph.

that sounds like an awesome and outstanding deal!
Here in Germany I asked a reputated shop near my garage for the small piece on the drivers side bottom of the original seat upholstery. They wanted about 200 Dollars - with the upholstery separated so they only have to stitch a new pad on. So I decided to buy the whole upholstery set from Rockauto for about 300 Dollars including shipping and taxes and have an all new seat for that money. I will take that task with the wife to make some more emotional bind for her to the truck
The new upholstery from rockauto seems to be very good quality for the price! I will keep the old one - perhaps I could find someone by the time who will manage that little task for little money...

Joseph, I am going to grey hound bus my seat up to you and have your guy give my bench seat that treatment. I was quoted 1,000 to foam and recover my 70' bench seat from a local shop.
