Door knob grommets that work

If your tired of the cheap plastic repro door knobs coming loose and rattling around, try using those being sold for a 70 mustang. NPD carries them. Nice metal frames with felt anti rattle liners. $4 each. I just bent the tabs out slightly and snapped them into my doors. Nice and tight. We'll see if they stay put. Worst case, I'll have to reach up inside the door and bend the tabs out further.
