Original steeting wheel

Post by Dustnrust »

Hi all...have a 70 f100 long bed...
Probably going against the grain...want to replace the aftermarket wheel that was put on by previous owner with original equipment...3 spoke with horn bar...
Anyone have a good place besides ebay to search?

Reproduction steering wheels run you about $200 from LMC Truck, Dennis Carpenter, Mac's, C&G Ford Parts, and the like, without a horn ring. A horn ring will cost you another $100. Another question is what else was replaced with aftermarket? How about the TSS and the horn assembly? You can readily get the parts, just additional expense and labor.

Thanks fellas...havent taken it apart yet to find out what else was removed and or modified...i do know the horn goes off if you push or pull anywhere on the steering wheel...haha...
Additionally i was hoping for a resource that may have legit steering wheels as opposed to repro...
Trying to match original blue...longshot i know..but still hopeful.

They typically crack at the intersection of the hub and spoke so it will be difficult to find one that is in good condition used. Good luck.

Eastwood sells a repair kit to repair minor cracks, if you're interested. http://www.eastwood.com/master-steering ... struc.html

I'm doing the same thing. Never liked the look of an aftermarket wheel in a classic car.
