I bought a 69 390 bump with a mess of wiring with random wires cut and switches controlling unknown stuff. I've figured out most of it except where these go. They're 4 wires on a connector by the heater box. Also where does the orange heater wire connect to? Only the white wire has power going to it. Thanks

Re: Help with mystery wires
I am thinking that is heater blower motor resistor, it should be located in the airstream somewhere on the heater box.
I'll try to look at mine tomorrow...

Re: Help with mystery wires
Check these out:
http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_h.htm
FWIW - the first one is the heater resistor I am 99.9% sure. My blower motor has two wires and goes around the top of the heater box. I seem to remember you can see the resistor with the glove box out, but I wouldn't swear to it.
The flat 4 is a puzzle, the 1970 diagram shows a plug that looks like it is basically a jumper between wire 140/140A, 32/32A and ties in 950 to 140 - at least thats what it looks like to me - it should probably be noted that it has been quite some time since I did much wire diagram reading...

I was thinking the same. The black wires with the red stripes may be for the back-up lights, which would make sense if the red wires are for the NSS. Maybe??meteor545 wrote:the flat 4 looks like the neutral safety switch do you have a manual trans? when i had a 4 speed, i had a pair of jumpers like that, the nss on my auto steering column plugged into it

Re: Help with mystery wires
On your blower motor there is a small wire harness that goes between your blower switch and your blower resistor. There is wire that comes from this harness that your blower plugs into. That end that is showing is one end of the harness it either plugs into the resistor or blower motor switch. The resistor is in a tough spot behind the heater assembly. I will try to find some pics to show you were it is.

Now that I'm lookin at the plug. it is the one that goes to your heater fan speed switch. In that harness witch is fairly short find the wire coming from it that should be where you connect the orange blower wire to.
