Engine Temp Wire Color
We've got a 71 F100. The wires under the hood for gauges aren't hooked up. Can anyone tell me the color of the wire under the hood for the engine temp sending unit? Also, any idea what the color of the horn wire is from the column? We got the manuals but can't find this in the diagrams. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Engine Temp Wire Color
Should be a three wire connector coming on the left side of the engine near the firewall, looks like a 4 wire trailer plug missing a wire. One wire goes to the coil, one to the temperature sender and one to oil pressure... at least this is how I remember it...
The one for the temp sender has a moulded 90 on it and is red with a yellow or white stripe.

Horn wire in column. Likely a dark blue wire with a yellow stripe.

Highly recommend getting one of these. It pays for itself the first time you break down and are tracing wiring on the side of the road:
