installing alternator
I have a 1968 Ford f250 with air conditioning. My alternator decided to die and set the voltage regulator on fire. Lucky to catch it in time to save my truck. Anyway I pulled the alternator off on all the air conditioning brackets and let it set for about a mo. Now I have a new alternator to install but like a dummy I'm having issues, waited to long. Would any one have a picture showing the correct location of the brackets ect.?? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: installing alternator
So far, I've seen several different a/c compressor mounting brackets and idler pulley combinations on these era trucks. Is your true factory a/c or dealer add on? how many idler pulleys does your set up use? It will be hard to get a clear cut answer on this since there were so many variations used. Maybe post some pictures up of what components you do have. Many of the members here have seen most of the variations and might be able to help you out just by seeing what ya got.

Re: installing alternator
Thanks for your input 1971hiboy. I do have factory air. There is a large bracket that secures the top of the alternator
and I believe the lower lever arm attaches for the belt adjustment. And there is a small adjustable belt pulley added for
the compressor. Will take some pics, may help.
