Can someone please explain to me where the cables go. Does the cable for the valve go on the top slider?

I don't remember which ones which but the heater control valve cable (the valve in the heater hose in the engine bay) goes on the one that says "cool" and "warm". The one that has heat/defrost on it operates the damper doors in the heater box.http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... heater.jpg
