'67 dash pad cracked

Post by moonshiner »

My dash pad is shot from the sun all these years. Anyone know where I can get a replacement or how it can be repaired. It's bad.

Welcome to the site.
The dash pad bolts on and doesn't look too bad when it's removed,( you'll need to remove the defroster grilles from the old pad.)
To replace it you just have too get lucky when you search. I don't know of a real good replacement that looks stock.
I think there is a plastic cap but I haven't seen one up close.

You can get a replacement pad from LMC or Dennis Carpenter for around $400 or they make an ABS cover that goes over the existing pad for around $100. I had one of the ABS covers on my truck when I bought it and couldn't tell the difference until I looked really close. And finally as Cep 62 says just removing the pad and leaving the metal looks good too.

I installed one from Dennis Carpenter and was happy with it. Used ones are out there if you Google long enough. Here is pics of the DC pad on a 69
