Gauges
Probably a stupid question but I would like some help. I would like to get my factory gauges working again. I had a friend put in some aftermarket gauges awhile back for me and now I'd like to get the factory ones working. I've done some reading, I will need to purchase the correct sensors and also check the IPVR is good. When my friend put the aftermarket gauges in I'm not sure what was done with the original wires that went from the original sensors to connections to the gauges. Does that make sense? Are these hard to come by?

Re: Gauges
To make things easy, you really need the original style harness plug. Depending on the year, you may need the printed circuit board also. Neither of which are easy to come by. Start with the instrument cluster diagram associated with your year/model truck to see what you may be missing. http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_h.htm and http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_i.htm

Re: Gauges
I am going to have my dash apart in the next few days to add some gauges. I have a 68 f100 and can take pics if you need to see what a factory setup looks like.

Re: Gauges
I think I tracked my original cables down, so now can do some testing.

Re: Gauges
Like Randy said above but your already ahead of the game having the 68' as it won't have a printed circuit board, (just the wiring harness like this one);
Most of the time you'll need new sending units for the oil and water to start / the volt meter wire feeding to the volt gauge can then be tested for power / amp gauge is a little harder.
