Horn doesn't stop blowing
I'm bringing the truck back, new aftermarket wiring harnes, new power steering etc. I hooked up the power today and with the steering wheel bolted down down the horn blows continuously. I traced it to the turn signal switch pivot point completing the circuit. My question is do I have the wrong switch? I used the shaft from the parts truck and the column from my manual trans truck does that make a difference in which switch I should have gotten? I know there is a difference at 30k on the serial number but that's the '69 model, right?

Make sure its not the relay stuck.

It's not the relay. It only does it when the wheel is making contact with the brush and pivot.

Is it possible that I don't have the column down far enough on the shaft?

Seems reasonable. Can you loosen up the clamp and slide it down a little?

It looks like there is some room, maybe an inch. I don't think I need that much though. I wish I had played with this before I put the inner fenders on would have been so much easier to get to.

Re: Horn doesn't stop blowing
A follow up, I dropped the column down about a half inch and my problems were solved. The horn only blows when I want it to. Not to mention that I finally have one in the truck.
