where to terminate 904 grn-red wire

Post by SeapineF37 »

rewiring the passenger fender mess during a conversion to 1-wire high/amp alternator. moving the battery and all nearby associated starter relay wiring on the passenger fender back to a undermount toolbox. deleted the old alternator/voltage regulator and have most all of the wiring coming through the passenger end of the firewall cleaned up and terminated. including the c-8 connector wiring w upgrade from ammeter to volt meter thank to bobbyford's recent 3g post  . but i am unsure from the wiring diagrams exactly whre to terminate the 904 green wire w red tracer. the blue w yellow im fairly certain switches the horn relay but what does this grn-red wire function? seens to connect to multiple strange spots on the old regulator / horn wiring and the wiring diagram shows it running back to gauges? thanks in advance fr the help!

I'm not familiar with a one-wire set up. Can you just leave the 904 and 6 wire disconnected at the C9 connector?

yeah i could leave it and then start troubleshooting if something doesnt function but i would like to sort, loom and terminate everything cleanly before i fire this thing back up. i believe i understand the function of all wires and connectors coming through the passenger side of the firewall except this one wire...
- the c-8 detailed in your 3g post is power to cab (blk-yellow) plus voltmeter inputs (yellow and red wires)
- the headlight wiring is going to a new relay setup that i have finished wiring already (4-plug)
- start (red w blue) and ignition (brown) wires to the starter relay
- the horn wire to a new relay (blue w yellow)
- and this 904 grn-red wire that i can'tfigure out from the schematic what i should do with
maybe i just do away with it but i would really like to understnd what its function is before i finish up my harness reconfigure

It's just a switched power wire once it comes out of the C8 connector.

ok great! thx. i will probably pull it back itno the cab then and use it to power acc in my glovebox. was worried it was tied to something important in the gauge cluster when i tried to decipher the schematic. thanks so much for the help. will be posting my work in the project section soon so you can see what the heck i was up to...
