LED Brake Lights?

Post by fijidad »

This must have been discussed before, but does anyone make a direct replacement LED for the dual element brake bulb on the 1971 Ford F250?

Google '1157 led' and you should find some good info / products. I'm sure I've seen the elements on eBay over the years.

I bought the LMC led tail light kit.
Directly plugs in to the existing tail light sockets.
Only thing I had to get besides the kit was a relay switch for the turn signals. Got that from local auto parts store.
They look really bright, work great and weren't too bad on the budget. :2cents:

I did that and the reviews were that they didn't fit the socket or didn't work when received. Not too impressed with what's been said about them.

I guess a better question would have been where did you buy them and were you satisfied with the quality control.... Dan

I did the LMC kit as well. I am thinking of upgrading to a set of these though!

Here's a link to Dakota Digital's LED tail lights for our Bumps. A bit spendy but I think I'm going to order a set. does not look like it includes the reverse light. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/ ... prd569.htm

I installed mine today and they look and work great...bought them from Tom's Bronco Parts, whose price was reasonable enough ($79.95) but the shipping costs for a four(4) ounce set of these lights was $14.69.

What weighed the most you ask? They threw in their catalog which weighed over a pound.

I'll be shopping locally from now on. Dan
