Toggle switching the coil
Ok I am running from switch to relay to turn coil on. Now do I still need the wire coming from the starter relay to the coil also?

Re: Toggle switching the coil
Are you talking about the brown wire on the starter side of the starter solenoid. If you are going from a 12 volt source then no you do not need the brown wire. Where did you get your power source from. I ran mine directly from the battery to the relay then to the coil using the run position on the ignition switch as the trigger wire for the relay. Also if you are running points you have to run the resister wire, ballast resister, or resister coil and still use the brown wire. All it does is put 12 volts to the coil while the starter is turning for better starting. Points do not like continuous 12 volts.

Mine is coming from battery to relay than to the coil. Then I have a switched fuse box that my switch comes from and then to the coil relay

And so now that spot on the starter relay is to just not be used? And thank u. I will eventually be able to just do the wiring and know what I'm doing. Thanx again

Oh yeah and I am gonna get a points eliminator kit so I don't have to worry about those points too. Any advise on that?

Yeah, go with a Pertronix module or system.Chris390 wrote:Oh yeah and I am gonna get a points eliminator kit so I don't have to worry about those points too. Any advise on that?
