Headlights not working

I drove my 70 F100 all summer with no issues, but the last time I did the headlight quit. Everything in the cab went out, then came back on except the headlights. Checked the fuses all good, I thought it was the switch and replaced it but that didn't fix it. Everything works except the headlights and I hear a funny noise when I pull new switch to the headlight position so I shut it off right away. Any suggestions?

Don't know much about the electrical parts of a vehicle but i do know that if the dimmer switch is bad the headlights won't work.
