Headlights won't turn on nothing fueses are in and good. The truck will start one time and then the coil gets super hot and won't start again. From what you've stated, you have major problems in the wiring, to the point that I don't believe you will be able to simply fix it quickly in order to drive it to you new destination.
If you plan to keep this truck and restore it right, my advice is not to try to hurry up the fix. There are many options available to you to slow things down and not be sorry for quick-fix / later problems.
One is to rent a storage facility for a month or two just to get your move out of the way, then relocate the truck to its new home.

Re: I have no clue what I'm doing
If you need to get it running just to move it. Disconnect the switch and "hot wire" it. You need some sort of resistor or resistor wire from the "+" side of coil to the battery and ONLY leave it connected when starting or running. Then make sure it's in neutral or reverse then jump across the battery side of the solenoid to the little post closest to it. You can use a remote starter switch or screwdriver (not your favorite one) to do this. The resistor wire you need should be in the harnesses you have.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch and headlight switch. Just about all circuits run through those two. Are they from the '71 or your original from the '70?
