Daytime Running Lights

Post by Mitchell67f100 »

Hey guys...new to this site and about to pick up my first project truck (67 f100).
As it's coming from the states and into Canada(Calgary) I need to install a DRL module to pass inspections. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good module to use or if someone has done this in the past??
Any help would by much appreciated.
Thanks :fr:

Do you have to have a module to control the lights? I'm wondering if you couldn't just run a ignition hot line to a relay under the hood then just splice into the headlight harness.

Do you for sure need the DRLs? I'm in Ontario, my truck is from Texas and MTO had no issues with the truck having no DRL for the safety, registration and licensing...they were never available on the production model, so not required. If the Canadian built/sold units had them, then an import from the US of that make/model would require them retrofitted. Based on vehicle age, you should be OK without them?

Thanks Cannonman and Southcoast for your help....I'll look into it and I'm sure Alberta would be the same as Ontario when it comes to those rules of imports...if not I'll go with cannonman's suggestion.
Thanks again guys
