Hey Guys,
My starter is going out (fast) on my 71 F100 (390 4V). It is most likely due to the close proximity to the Flotech Headers. I plan on replacing it with a new "mini starter". Anybody know what is a good kind?
I'm currently considering this one:

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Best Mini Starter for 71 F100?
Good day Bob,
Some of us like the RobbMc starter; here's mine. It allows us to adjust the clock position of the solenoid, and it's as American-made as possible.
Robb himself's an FE engine enthusiast, if I remember correctly.
I just glanced at his Web site, and it appears that his models have changed. He now offers two different starters for FEs, and they're "Gen II," so you may need to e-mail Robb for guidance (if you're interested).

Thanks for the tip, Rob.
I contacted Rob, and he told me which one I'd need for my Truck.
I DO attempt to buy American when possible.
It will be a bit before I can afford any Starter - but I have some good ideas now.
Thanks,
Bob

I went the way Rob did. (On his recommendation) Great starter, and one of the best things I have done for the 68.

May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.
