Replacing wiring terminals in plugs
I'm going to rewire the truck after the engine's installed and I'm wondering if anyone has replaced the terminals in the switch plugs and where you found them. I really hate the idea of splicing them into the new harness and would like a cleaner installation than that.

You can check on eBay and other sites. You may be able to find something.
If I can find some of the sites I've searched I'll list them later.

Re: Replacing wiring terminals in plugs
Thanks, I've been searching for awhile and haven't found anything. My ideal would be to buy new plugs and rewire from there but it doesn't seem to be possible. I'll be using weatherpack connectors for the firewall and other sub assemblies but I'd really like to have a clean installation at the switches too.

Re: Replacing wiring terminals in plugs
You can remove the current wire terminals and replace with new terminals. NPD and most of the classic car part houses sell a nifty little device for rremoving the wire terminals from the plugs.
Most of the plugs can be cleaned up and even painted to look like new.
The terminals have a small "tang" on the top that locks them into the plugs. Again, these are available at most part houses.

Thanks Mach428. I found what I was looking for when I finally realized I was looking at Packard 56 series connectors which, like you say are available at most parts houses. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees.
At times I think I'm my own worst enemy.
